Ebony Clark on Challenge 3

Afro achieved by picking out my twist out.
My updo was inspired by the essence of who I am…not much fuss, nor too extravagant… Simple, yet complex in nature. I love styles that represent me. I usually just go with the flow and that is how I chose to do this style. I stood in front of the mirror—without a plan— and let my fingers work. Also I try to choose styles that don’t require much manipulation, as it can cause breakage.
Hair accessories can make a huge difference when it comes to having braids, twists, or cornrows. Decorative hairpins are at the top of my list when it comes to adorning my braids. These flower pins are functional and they add the right amount of sparkle.
My dream gig would be to be the “face/presence” of a brand that caters to women that are neither model height, nor build. I represent the women that are shorter with fuller figures, but not necessarily plus size.
WOW! Curly Twist Out Hair Milk has helped me achieve one of the best twist outs I’ve ever had! My hair is soft, well-defined, and healthy looking.
ReShonda–You did a good job of showcasing the accessories. I see that you switched it up a bit this week regarding your poses, and I love that you don’t mind looking dead on into the camera. Beautiful!
Overall I enjoyed the challenge. There was definitely variety between each model, and each of you did your best to capture your version of love and make proper use of your wedding pieces.

The most difficult challenges were challenges 4 (the makeup and jewelry) and 5 (Valentine’s Day). Simply because my grandmother had just died. I felt a little overwhelmed by everything–work, trying to make travel arrangements, the competition, trying to figure out who was going to take my pictures at the last minute before my flight, trying to upload pics while in California while meeting the demands of my family, coming back, trying to get re-adjusted to my own life and being back in my own time zone and grieving at the same time. The most fun for me was Challenge 1 (the introductions) Read More “Ebony Clark, ANNM 2011”
Congratulations! How does it feel to be Miss Nappturality?
It feels great! It’s truly an honor…especially having put forth so much effort. To see it pay off is priceless!!!
I’d love to let the other models know that I enjoyed being apart of this with them. Although I only spoke to a couple of them personally, I felt a connection in some way or another to each one of them. They are truly beautiful and inspiring! Thanks to the judges for the time taken to provide feedback.
