 International Award winning Maria Thompson of Twist & Curves specialises in Braids, Locs, Twists & Natural Hair. She is also a Licensed Cosmetologist, Educator & Platform Artist. A native of London, England, she started there over 30 years ago, and migrated to the USA in the 80’s. Maria lends herself to elegant styles for the busy woman on the run. Her styles are designed to take 2-3 hrs to create and 15 – 60 minutes to take out.
An extensive line of instructional DVD’s are available featuring these styles. Twist & Curves is home for the Curly Twists, which Maria created ten years ago. Natural hair and Locs has been her focus over the last few years, as more and more people are transitioning to Natural Hair or Locs. Her work has been published in the USA including Essence Hot Hair issue and Sophisticates Black Hair; England and France. She has been featured on TV in England, and USA, TLC and NBC. Maria has had the pleasure of styling the Guinness World Book of Records holder for the longest locs, 19ft 6ins, Asha Mandella.
