Well like my title says I am loving going natural. But the only thing that has been boring me is that my mother and sister are trying to go natural with me. Not that I dont think it is a good thing for them. Feels good that I can inspire people to go natural just like myself. But I just dont want it to become some sort of competition. And I kind of was doing this all on my own and I kind of enjoyed that feeling. Plus my mother is starting to go to the same hair supply as me. And when she saw the new natural products I got. Like Uncle Funky Daughter or even the eco styler gel she just has to use them. And that stuff is not cheap when it adds up. So I have her using it and now my sister wants to start. I am picky on how much product I use to make it last. I try hiding my things but they get to them. Lol its like natural hair wars. But anyway still doing a good job at going natural. Did a three strand braid out. So far I am gtting use to it. Conditioned it with some olive oil to make some sort of sheen. And is it sad to say that my hair is my new hobby. I watch so many video’s on my free time. Blogs and other natural websites. Most people dont understand black hair. When I go t work in a wash and go pulled back into a tight bun. The white girls will say oh your hair is so short. I inform them that my hair is still the same lenght but is just not straigh in a way for them to see it. They seem so confused at first. I think that so many other races dont understand what natural black hair even looks like. And they have pushed so many of us black woman into believing our hair has to look the way that they view it. Just seems like if a black woman doesnt have her hair permed or in a weave other cultures dont understand why it is natural. I am loving myself the natural me and when they dont understand I educate them on the truths. I was talking to my mother the other day about doing the Big Chop and she was like that I will just have to cut my ends little by little and thats what I will do. But I had to tell her nicely that this is my hair journey and we all have our own. My moterand sister have both cut their hair in a short style but never did it to go natural and not to use perms. My mother uses a chemical curl. Which I keep trying to tell her that it is not a natural curl like what I am trying to achieve. I also told her if I wanted a Big Chop it is my chose and hair will grow. I think her mind is just stuck that black hair wont grow.
