Alice Echols Challenge 3 - Jamaica Mango & Lime, America's Next Natural Model lime, mango, jamaican, home, jamaica, bringing 0
I’m not new to Jamaican Mango & Lime products, my mother and I have trusted both the Locking wax and gel for twists and twists outs since I went natural two years ago.
Since I made the transition to natural, I have had trouble styling my own hair. Though I have a hard time producing twists and braids that are presentable enough to wear in public, twists out have been my savior, providing me with versatility during those weeks when I crave variety. The major issues I had when searching for the perfect products to complete this style were that most waxes and gels either weighed my hair down and were entirely too greasy or they didn’t tackle my frizz. Jamaican Mango & Lime products didn’t leave me with either of these problems, and with the addition of a pre-treatment with The Cactus Leave In Moisturizer and Cactus grow, this was my healthiest looking twist out to date.
After co-washing my hair, I followed the directions and sectioned my hair, applying Cactus Grow to my scalp. Once applied, I gave my head a finger massage and then wrapped a towel around my hair for 3 minutes.
Next I massaged the Leave in Moisturizer through my hair, paying special attention to my tips, which is where I have the biggest problems with dryness and frizz.
Using the Locking Firm Wax, I coated my sectioned hair from root to tip, again paying special attention to my ends, and then made small braids all around my head. I wore my hair covered for a day.
When I took my hair out, I reapplied the Leave in Moisturizer as I separated the sections.
My hair had a refreshing herbal scent and looked healthy and well moisturized, not weighed down or greasy!
I love the fact that Jamaican Mango & Lime uses natural ingredients, including olive oil, cactus extract, honey and beeswax! I can rest assured that my hair not only looks great but is being treated right when I use these products.
