alie Transitioning Thoughts Going natural, Natural Hair Story, transitioning, curly, super, From Relaxed to Natural, hair 0
So I decided to experiment with my hair last night. I conditioned it, shampooed it (since I haven’t done so in like 2-3 weeks), and then deep conditioned it. I wrung it out with a towel and then put a protein milk, olive oil and shea butter mixture on it and ran it throughout my hair. After this, I put small two-strand twists all over my head. I then twisted those small twists into about 8 larger twists. Afterwards, I tied these twists into bantu knots. Yeah, I did a lot to it, just as an experiment lol. I put my silk bonnet on it and slept this way. This morning, I took it all out & it was the softest my hair has EVER been!!! I love it, and can’t keep my hands out of it lol. It is so curly, soft and has a great shine to it. I just thru a headband on it and went to class. I’ve gotten so many compliments on how pretty it is and how soft it is (yeah everyone wanted to touch).
Now my hair is never this soft. I’m not sure if it was the way I washed it, the products I used, the style I did or a combination of the 3 that made it so beautiful but either way, I love it and I will probably be doing it everytime I shampoo my hair (bi-weekly usually). My hair gets a build up easily so I co-wash it bi-weekly and shampoo it the weeks I don’t co-wash. It works well for my hair type because of the different textures I have on my head and how my hair holds any product I put in it. Anyway, I just wanted to share this because I’m so excited about my hair and hopefully this could help someone with similar hair to mine.
I can’t upload the image up here for some reason but I’ll try to post it in my album 🙂
