I just got my locs started with the interlocking technique. I got them started professionally but the problem is that I don’t like how it looks. My hair is about 4-5 inches and I used to wear 2-strand twists all the time. Now my hair seems so much shorter.
The locs look like little hard “sticks” all over my head–about 2-3inches in length and the hair seems fuzzy too. It doesn’t look as neat as some other people I see with locs —albeit longer than mine. It’s only been 2 days so I’m wondering if I just have to wait until they grow.
I am really excited to loc my hair , I’ve been wanting to do it for a while but I just don’t like how I look right now. Any advice?

It seems from what you’ve said that you really enjoyed wearing your hair in the Two Strand Twist style. If that’s true, the Two Strand Twist is an excellent style from which to lock your hair. In terms of the Starter Locs, perhaps you can have your Stylist style them in a way that is more pleasing. It can be styled in a certain direction that’s more pleasing to you. And you can also ask your Stylist about holding products that aren’t as drying, leaving your hair feeling or looking like little hard sticks.
