Attaining a Crinkled Loc Look
In this challenge, contestants were asked to create a how-to guide for creating curls or crinkles. As a loc’er, I decided to create a crinkled loc look by braiding my hair. Here are the step-by-step instructions as to how you too can achieve this funky crinkled look, as follows:
Step One: Wash hair with an organic shampoo, such as Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Pure-Castile Soap, and towel dry it before using an olive oil based hair oil to lightly moisturize the scalp. The process begins with clean, straight locs.
Step Two: Use a leave-in conditioner to soften locs at the root.
Step Three: Section hair into four equal sections.
Step Four: Start braiding smaller sections of hair.
Step Five: Make sure all hair is braided with loose, free-hanging braids.
Step Six: Sit under a soft-bonnet ionic dryer for 1-2 hours, depending on the length of the locs.
Step Seven: After drying, start unraveling braided locs.
Step Eight: After unbraiding all loced sections, you are ready to strut your stuff on the runway.
ENJOY!
If Bob Marley and Chaka Khan had a love child and Erykah Badu was the godmother, the long-loc’ed princess would be named C.Dzen (pronounced “season”). With an island girl visage, tremendous range, vocal control and beautiful timbre, C.Dzen is the total package. Curry Flavored Neo Soul.
