My hair is a direct extension of myself. It is representation of my growth over the years. It defines me as a creative being. I wear my hair this way because it represents the amount of time I have spent on my own as an adult.

“The Color Of Water” By James McBride.

My Favorite movie is “Happy Feet”. Yes, I know it’s a children’s movie but I love the idea of Top Charted songs over the decades being featured in the movie.
Why did you become a model and what is your goal as a model?
I decided to be a model to prove something to myself… that I am capable of producing amazingly beautiful forms of artwork through photography. I love the idea of taking photographs, wearing clothing that is one of a kind, while being able to showcase my favorite aspect of myself… My hair.
My hair is an extension of my personality and my locks are what defines my individuality as a model. So I feel my hair is one of the most important things I could have as a model.
How important is your hair as a model? Why do you choose to wear your hair the way you do?
My hair is a direct extension of myself. It is representation of my growth over the years. It defines me as a creative being. I wear my hair this way because it represents the amount of time I have spent on my own as an adult. I started growing my locks when I moved into my first apartment. As it grows, so does my progress as an independent individual.
What does your hair mean to you? Is it just an accessory that compliments your personality and style or is it deeper than that?
My hair is definitely something that compliments my personality; however it is more than just that, there is a deeper meaning for my locks. My locks are a representation of all I am today and all I hope to be tomorrow. The strength that is held in each individual lock represents the strength I hope to come into. I have known struggle and I have gotten through which suggests that I am on the right track. I can only hope that as I grow so will my strength as a person, physically, mentally and emotionally.
How important is a woman’s hair to you? Does a weave, relaxed hair or a natural head bother you or do you have a preference for either of these styles?
I feel a woman’s hair is of utmost importance. It’s what makes a woman who she is. I would prefer the natural look as it is how a woman is intended to be seen, naturally beautiful.
What do you think of our pageant “America’ s Next Natural Model” to promote natural African hair?
I love the “America’s Next Natural Model” pageant. It gives women the opportunity to really embrace the raw beauty behind what society says may not be good enough.
Do you think black hair is an issue? Why or why not?
I will never think “Black Hair” is an issue. It is the way it was intended to be and it is in no way shape or form better or worse that any other type of hair. I would prefer “black Hair” personally.
