A Choice of Weapons: The New Renaissance Artists, that is. An exhibition by African Voices to honor Gordon Parks. See what pictures were chosen and help me choose the rest.
Last month’s issue of African Voices’ newsletter featured a roll call for artists to send in their work for a Tribute to Gordon Parks. To commemorate the fact that they had the distinction of giving the late legendary photographer/filmmaker their very first artist award, African Voices host a special exhibition to honor Mr. Parks who would have turned 100 this year.
I so wanted to be part of this exhibition but not only was it a crazy busy time with ANNM going on, it was also hard to choose from the thousands of images that I have shot over the years.

I finally choose these 3 and got in! Needless to say I am elated. Any time your name is mentioned in the same sentence as Gordon Parks is great and my work was picked out of nearly 100 submissions. Now I need help picking a few more portraits. You can help by letting me know which ones you would pick from our Natural Hairstyle of the Day section.
