When I got my box of Eden Products I was really excited I have tried soo many hair products over the years, and I am always willing to try one more. Luckily, I have had my mom by my side to help me sort through the trash and the treasure.
The first step we take is look at the ingredients, most products don’t make it pass this stage, I check the list of ingredients and always hit that moan moment where I see lauryl sulfate or alcohol. No moans here, I checked the list of ingredients myself and then had my mom double check, YES !!! the Eden products are truly natural with no ingredients from the NO NO list. The second step is the reasonable price check, no point in finding the perfect product if you can no afford to use it on a regular basis, the Eden products pass here also. If products make it pass those first two check points I usually buy them.
Now that the Eden products had made it thought the preliminary stages it was time for the test drive ! I washed my hair with the Eden Body Works Shampoo and Conditioner. The shampoo was very nice it smelled minty fresh and made my hair more “manageable”. The conditioner provided some much needed moisture to my dry locks. After I was done washing I used the Eden Body Works Hair Milk and shea butter to twist my hair. I was very happy with the results, it made my twists look shiny and healthy. The hair milk was my favorite.
When it came time for the photo shoot I really thought about the concept of Eden and the Garden of Eden, it made me think about Africa. It also made me think about Marcus Garvey and his quote “Don’t remove the kinks from your hair. Remove them from your brain.” So I came up with the idea to do my shoot with the theme Back to Eden similar to Marcus Garvey’s back to Africa movement, taking slaves back to where they came from. Back to Eden symbolizes being natural, being black ,loving/taking care of yourself and, taking your hair back to the natural state it started in. So if you love and want to take care of yourself follow me to back Eden.
