Why did you become a model and what is your goal as a model?
I became a model because I wanted to get out of my shy comfort zone. My goal is to become a familiar face among African American positive role models.
How important is your hair as a model? Why do you choose to wear your hair the way you do?
My hair is considered exotic, with a natural 3 blends of color. It really suits my look and love my hair to death.
What does your hair mean to you? Is it just an accessory that compliments your personality and style or is it deeper than that?
Well, it completes the whole package. I honestly feel like I’d be a very different individual without it.
How important is a woman’s hair to you? Does a weave, relaxed hair or a natural head bother you or do you have a preference for either of these styles?
I love many women hair styles. There is no preference, though I appreciate anything natural. Natural beauty is the best kind.
What do you think of our pageant “America’s Next Natural Model” to promote natural African hair?
Its the old school. Nice rounded Fro that has faded away with time. I like it,. You dont see much of the Afro nowadays. I feel like hair style isn’t as essential as it was in the 80’s and early 90’s so bringing trends like that back is a step in the right direction.
Do you think black hair is an issue? Why or why not?
No, I dont think so. It’s one of those things where you have to take care of it and nurture it. Its not hard at all, think of it like a baby.
