Hello Ladies,
Nearly every contest result starts with the words “It was really difficult” and unfortunately, I can’t be original in this sense. It was darn difficult to choose America’s Next Natural Model 2011.
I went through all photos, one by one, checked them out again, went through the judges’ feedback as well as the sponsors’ then asked myself which photos would I use for an ad in a campaign to come to a decision. Of course the members’ votes were at least as important. The audience was wonderful and provided me a clear top 3 but we will give feedback to all four left.
Munya although you didn’t have many followers, you started very strong in the competition. Your first shoot wowed the judges and we all thought you were very promising. Somehow I think somewhere down the road you got discouraged and although you had a professional photographer, in some of your pictures you could see the editing and the lightning was just a bit off so we couldn’t get a clear view of your hairstyle. You had a series of very beautiful pictures though and the ones that I would use in an ad are: photo 3, 4, 5 and of shoot 1, photo 2 and 5 of week 2, photo 3 of week 3, photo 4 and 5 of week 4, photo 1 of week 8. A total of 9 pictures.
From the very beginning it was clear that Nina’s youtube followers were serious in supporting her all the way to the top. Nina the way you inspired your audience to support you is absolutely amazing and the result is telling. You had the highest number of votes in every challenge. I feel that this is no coincidence. From what I’ve seen, besides your beauty, you have a sweet and kind personality that want to make people support you.
Then there is also the work you put into it. There is no doubt that all the models put a lot of effort doing photo shoots but making a video on top of that is double work and that’s what you did. The only minus that you really had was the lack of a good camera or a professional photographer because you showed growth during the competition. You looked beautiful in most of the shots but unfortunately not many were professional enough. Some were just bit blurry or unsharp or had shadows. Just not good enough for a billboard or a magazine ad. The photos I could and would use are picture 1 and 4 of shoot 3, pictures 9, 10 of shoot 5, photos 7, 8, 9 and 10 of shoot 6 and picture 1 of week 8. That is a total of 9 photos.
Timolin, after Nina you had the most loyal supporters voting for you. One of the judges said about you: She’s in it to win it. And I think she meant that your approach was the most professional because from challenge 4 on you had a professional photographer, your makeup was top notch and your poses revealed your experience. You also clearly enjoy being a model. That comes through in nearly every photo and of course that is an advantage. Because this inspires the photographer and it comes through in the pictures. The only minus that you had is that your hair wasn’t always captured well enough. You had some amazing styles, we just couldn’t get a clear view of them. Your last shoot was amazing though! That is the photos I was looking for.
Those are shots I could use in an ad any day. I wished you did this earlier but overall you did wonderfully. The photos I would choose to use in an ad are the last 2 of week 3, the last 2 of week 4, photo 7 of week 6, all shots of week 8. A total of 10 Pictures
Ebony your are 3rd runner up when it comes to the public votes. I think you did have a supporters group from the beginning as well and it seems that your support has even grown during the competition. So even though you didn’t have as many supporters as Nina and Timolin, I think it’s a positive point for you. The more people saw of you the more they supported you.
I must say, the judges really liked you. What is great about that is the fact that you didn’t use a professional photographer but you rocked your shoots. The judges were very impressed and the sponsors were content as well. In the beginning you seemed a little stiff but you consistently performed well. The pictures I would use from you are photo 3 of week 1, photo 1, 2, 3, 4 of week 3, photo 4 of week 4, photo 6, 7 , 9 of week 5. Photo 5 and 9 of week 6, photo 9 and 10 of week 7 and 2 and 3 of week 8. A total of 15 photos. You delivered the most shoots we could use for an ad and that makes you the winner of America’s Next Natural Model 2011. Congratulations!
