One day before the Transcendence Hair Show was the bazaar. Some vendors were already set up at 9:00 am and by noon the former disco on Waverly Ave was full of booths. Asha Mandela, the world record holder of the longest locs, made a guest appearance to meet and greet visitors at Kafele’s booth. After 21 years of growth, her locs are 19 feet and 6.5 inches. Absolutely amazing to see how beautiful and healthy her hair is. Makeup Artist Kumia Smith Lee put on Asha’s makeup.
Khemistry founder, Dr. Kanika J. Ward was also Beauty products in the house with her Kosmetiks line. Jessyca Marshall, Microlocks consultant was All the way from Dallas, the NuDred family. Specialty durable shower caps for people with long locs. Unique jewelry, wonderful pieces of art were available at several booths. It was hard to choose. Models and stylists spiced up the place. If you left without getting your hair styled, it was because you didn’t want to.
