We can do endless styles with natural hair but we keep it safe until we get bored. So try spicing up your relationship by taking your napps to the next level. Better yet make it a tradition to surprise your Valentine with a style that keeps him wondering.
Preperation
Before going to Yendys, I gave my hair a luxury Sula NYC treatment. Washing with the Sula Olive Soap was a revelation for me. The moment I added the soap to my saturated hair, the coils started to separate. Just like when I use my own Going Natural Shampoo, I could run my fingers through my hair without a problem. More than pleasantly surprised, I was amazed by the natural feel and scent of Sula and this was only half of the Sula Experience.
I usually avoid extra steps where I have to prepare stuff like adding water to make a mud masks. Sure it’s because the bathroom gets messy but to be really honest, I like easy so I rather use stuff straight out of a bottle. The first Sula step felt so good though that made me want to go all the way.
Honestly, it’s not a hard step at all. It is literarily just adding water to the lava clay and your paste is ready. Something magical happened after I finished adding the clay to my hair and scalp. It felt almost like I was having a scalp massage. O it felt so wonderful.
I had read that Lava clay doesn’t just purify the skin, it also nourishes it with vital minerals. This must have been what I felt during those 5 minutes I had the clay on my head, covered with a conditioning cap.
After washing out the clay my hair felt super soft. Like cotton fresh harvested at the perfect time. All I did was add a little oil, put my hair in a couple of big parts and I was on my way to Yendys.
Can you believe that this is one style?
I love Yendys as a stylist. Not only because of her skills and she is very skilled but she also works fast. That is invaluable for an impatient person like me.
Another wonderful quality of Yendys is that she listens to you as a person. She listens to what you want, makes you feel at home and treats you like you are her best and only client.
A different perspective depending on your view
While she was doing my hair I had a most wonderful cup of her special tea and we talked about food, life philosophy and I don’t know what else but before you know it my style was done.
Yes this is one style, on one head
When I came home hubby walked around me a couple of times after he said it’s nice! As if he was trying to figure out the style, his eyes were wandering trough the cornrows and circling around my bantus.
I have worn bantus before and I think he liked them too. This is just a more fascinating variation. Just when he gets used to it and just before he has it figured out, I will probably take my hair out. Next year, I hope to surprise him yet again.
Epilogue
This is my 2nd week wearing the style and it still looks good. Even better than that, it feels great. The wind through my bantus is such a nice feeling. I don’t know if it was the Sula treatment or it’s because my scalp has hardly been exposed since summer but my scalp feels amazing. It feels like it’s alive. Like it breaths.
The other day I took my hat off and walked with my bare head in the cold and I couldn’t believe myself. It’s very very rare that I am without a hat in winter time but this was just wonderful.
