First, make sure you’re keeping your hair in tip top condition so you can walk with pride.
You know the drill – moisture, moisture, moisture! Inside and out.
So drink your eight glasses of water a day and develop a good weekly deep conditioning routine. Pretty soon your hair (and skin) will be glowing like this lovely model.
Lavish some extra love on your strans by washing it with Herbal Almond Shampoo. It doesn’t contain any sulphates, so it won’t dry out your hair. It’s designed to add shine and soothe damaged or dry hair. Follow that up with the Going Natural Hair Masque. It calms your scalp while balancing out the moisture your hair needs and replenishes the strands stripped off by your day to day routine. Once your hair has been washed, conditioned and air dried, work some Silky Shea Hair Butter through to keep it soft and manageable. Decide how far back you’d like your Afro puff to start then divide your hair into two sections from ear to ear. Cornrow the front part of the hair into any pattern you like. Get creative! Secure the ends either with bands or by inter braiding the individual bits from the mid point to behind the ears in either direction.
Finger comb out your Afro puff at the back and you are good to go!
Don’t forget to keep your hair and scalp hydrated especially as the tension from the braids tends to make your scalp drier than normal. Give it a daily spritz of Scalp Conditioning Spray – that should do the trick.
If your Afro has gotten to that stage where it’s starting to look all beautiful and puffy but isn’t quite long enough to tie back, here’s a good way for you to show it off.
