She received her Master of Social Work degree from the Hunter College School of Social Work in June of 2011. Tami started IMENA inc. in 2008 so that women could have a place to go to get their hair done that understands, appreciates, and embraces their diversity in hair textures, lengths, and styles. She has 14 years of experience creating hairstyles that fit the lifestyles of her clients. In 2008 she formed IMENA inc. to offer professional hair services to the public. As a hair stylist and a social worker, her education in both fields has allowed her to offer her clients unparalleled customer service, while maintaining an approach that says that she is a partner with her clients, working with them to get the desired results they want for their hair. Tami C. is also the writer and director of BEAUTIFUL: The Documentary, a film about women of color, societal impacts, mental health, and hair.
