What was the hardest part of your journey?

The hardest part of my journey was the mental transition. This is my second time goin natural and the first time i went natural, even though i was istill hadn’t changed the way i looked at my hair.

And the best part?

The best part was discovering something about myself that i never knew exsisted. Being natural has opened my mind to some many possibilities and inmany ways, humbled me.

What did your hair journey teach you?

My hair journey has taught me that in order to discover something new and really love it, you have to let go of your own thoughts. There are many assumptions in this world about black hair care but to truely love andappreciate it, i had to let go of everything i thought i knew and i now
apply this concept into my life as a whole.

Describe your worse hairdo and your best hairdo and please include a
picture if you can.Wow my worse …. that could be alot.. lol. It took me awhile to learn how to do my hair SO i didn’t really take any pictures of my worse moments. Iwill start though because i don’t want people to think that i don’t have badhair days myself.

Looking back, has your perception of your hair or black hair in general
changed?

Please elaborate.Yes it has. I used to be like everybody else with the whole “oh your hair only grows because you have “good hair”. I know look back that statement,and this may offended some people, but that is one of the dumbest and mostignorant thoughts i have ever had in my life. I think the problem with mostblack women, as was my problem at one point, is that we don’t read, study,and investigate how we should take care of our hair. We basically justassume and then wonder why it won’t grow.

What is your favorite hairstyle?

My favorite hairstyle is the wash and go. I had to stop for awhile because i was getting some serious Single Strand Knots but i have learned how to dealwith those as well.

I love my hair because it suits me better then relaxed hair. It is very diverse and i can show many different sides of my personality without sayinga word. I feel as though my natural hairexpresses me better than words evercould.
