Did you know that New York City was exchanged for Suriname? Yes, it was in 1667 when the British cede their part of Suriname to the Netherlands in exchange for New Amsterdam (later called New York City).
So while I am still working on the new fantastic website/shop I like to invite all of you interested to hear Jennifer Tosh talk more this part of history.
The TED-Talk author of “The Amsterdam Slavery Heritage Guide” and founder of “Black Heritage Amsterdam Tours” shares her knowledge on Thursday at The Netherlands Consulate General in New York from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
Admission is free but you have to RSVP. It would be nice to see you there! Click to RSVP for Introducing the Amsterdam Slavery Heritage Guide to New YorkIntroducing the Amsterdam Slavery Heritage Guide to New York
