Step 1

I adore my ‘frotastic hair, but sometimes I need a change. When I feel the desire to change up my style, and more specifically, define my curls I know the time has come to Doodle! This is a perfect style that creates long lasting and defined curls that are NATURALLY all mine!

For this process you will need:

1. Freshly shampooed and conditioned hair:

 a. Going-Natural Peppermint Shampoo

 b. Going-Natural No More Knots Spray

2. Products for your curls:

 a. Going-Natural Herbal Styling Gel

 b. Going-Natural Silky Shea Hair Butter (Optional but recommended)

 c. Going-Natural Curly Twist-Out Hair Milk (Optional but recommended)

3. Basic Tools:

 a. Duck Bill Clips

 b. Spray Bottle (to keep hair damp)

 c. Tangle Teezer Tool-Professional Detangling Brush (For adequate detangling & for help defining curls)

 d. Optional: Comb for parting the hair

Make sure that your hair is freshly washed and damp. Keep your spray bottle handy so that it the hair becomes more dry, you may easily re-wet.

Step 2

Make sure that you have adequate lighting so that you may pay attention to the direction you choose to doodle your hair.

I like to begin the doodling process by parting my hair in sections so that it is more manageable. That is why the clips are needed to hold and secure the sections of hair.

Adequately detangle your hair using the Tangle Teezer. You may choose to do this as you move through the sections. Part out small sections of the larger sections using the end of your rat-tail comb. (Re-wet the sections using your spray bottle if needed). 

Apply your Going Natural products.

1. Apply the Going-Natural Silky Shea Hair Butter to the sections

2. Apply either Going-Natural Curly Twist-Out Hair Milk or the Going-Natural Herbal Styling Gel

Use Your Tangle Teezer

1. When you have adequately applied the going natural products to the section of the hair you are working with, rake them through thoroughly with the Tangle Teezer, being sure to go from root to tip.

· Helpful Hint: If hair is extra tangled, you may want to start gently detangling from the tip up to the root to prevent extra hair loss and damage.

Step 3

After adequately completing steps 1 and 2, it’s time to doodle!

1. Take a small section of the hair that has been detangled and where product has been added.

 a. Note: You may add a small amount of additional product to your finger to help make twirling a little easier.

2. Gently twirl the hair around your index finger looping it around with each twirl.

3. Continue to twirl until the curl is nicely defined from root to tip.

 a. Helpful Hint: Do not twirl hair so hard are so long that the hair comes out. Be gentle!

Step 4

Notice your defined ringlet! Let the doodle go. Be sure not to continue to touch the doodle as this may cause additional frizzing preventing the curl from keeping it’s definition.

Continue the steps throughout your hair.

Note: Your hair may look different from the pictures as textures and hair length may vary, however, the ending result and look is amazing for EVERY curly girl and guy!

 

Step 5 

The doodles are all in and you are ready to go!

Here are a few simple care instructions for your doodles:

1. Sleep with a loose fitting silk/satin cap at night.

2. For added protection use a silk/satin pillowcase.

3. In the morning refresh your curls with just a tough of a essential oil such as jojoba, olive or wheat germ for added protection and shine.

4. Be sure to KHOOH (Keep Hands Out Of Hair)! Excessively touching your curls will only cause more and more frizz, bringing your lovely definition to a halt!

 

Doodling with the Going Natural Hair products is a breeze, much like your hair will be.  Though I used the Herbal Styling Gel, my hair is moisturized, soft, shiny and yet has a hold like no other.  I’m flowing with the wind, but the frizz will NEVER begin!

I feel super pretty with the added ease of the Going-Natural products.  I know my crown is my glory, and boy have I achieved that glory with the these doodles.  My hair looks and feels defined!  I never thought i could achieve such eye-catching curls, but with this method, who could resist a peek?!

Defining curls will never be a question in my regime.  The steps are more than simple, they are amazingly simple and produce the most gorgeous results!
