I went natural 5 years ago because I was tired of putting a texturizer in my hair to make it softer and more managable.
Name: Keshia Marie
Profession / Location: Actress/Model,Boston
What was the worst part of your journey?
I would have to say is trying to figure out what to do with my hair and not the same hair do all the time.
And the best part?
MY CURLS AND SOFT HAIR! 🙂
What did your hair journey teach you?
I taught me that if I took care of my hair the way I should I would be happy with the outcome.
Describe your worst hairdo and your best hairdo and please include a picture if you can.
My worst hairdo would have to be when this hairstyles had to do my hair for a fashion show and you could tell she’s never dealt with natural hair before and she parted my hair down my head and on both sides she did some time of rolls on my head. I thought I looked like the “black grinch” lol. My best hairdo would have to be my twist out.
Looking back, has your perception of your hair or black hair in general changed? Please elaborate.
Yes it has before it looked dry and dusty. Now my hair looks much healthier and non dusty.
Most girls loved their first perm. Do you remember yours? Was it a special occassion, how old were you and how did you feel about it?
I never got a perm but I am not sure if a Just for Me texturizer counts as a perm too. If so I thought after getting it done it was the best feeling ever! and I was about 17 years old.
