Why did you become a model and what is your goal as a model?
Modeling was more of a hobby than career aspiration. However recently I decided to try to gain some additional exposure
How important is your hair as a model? Why do you choose to wear your hair the way you do?
I think my hair adds to my presence. I’ve been told I have a good look. So I would like to be believe my hair enhances my other strengths. My hair was a natural progression. For most of my childhood and teenage years I wore my hair low cut. First I decide to do cornrows and from there I wasn’t ready to cut it but I didn’t want cornrows anymore. So Lox seemed like a good way to go. It just so happened that lox really started to become popular at the same time. I think if you look at our hairstyles over the last 30-40 years. There has been a certain progression that is almost as logical as it is expressive.

What does your hair mean to you? Is it just an accessory that compliments your personality and style or is it deeper than that?
My hair represents a certain period of my life. Probably the period in my life which has the most to do with the person I am today.I think its a little deeper than an accessory. Not for religious reasons. For me at this period in my life its just right
How important is a woman’s hair to you? Does a weave, relaxed hair or a natural head bother you or do you have a preference for either of these styles?
A woman’s hair doesn’t make a difference. However I live in an area where a lot of Afro/Amer. women where weaves. Its become a turnoff. It just looks like part of a costume. I always thought fake hair was supposed to enhance what you already have. I look at some of this stuff and I immediately know this is not your hair. I don’t like that. Where is the real you. I appreciate women who wear there own hair. Whether its relaxed or natural. Its you.
Is the texture of a woman’s hair important to you? And Length?
I’m attracted to various types of women. Working at a gym I get to see women with all types of hairstyles. Its all how you present yourself. I can think of a few ladies that stand out. Short brush cuts, Natural kinky hair, Relaxed. They are all beautiful. And length? Length doesn’t make a difference. I like to play in a woman’s hair no matter the length.
I will say this. Women with short hair like a brush cut, always seem to have a confidence about them that is just very sexy.
Do you think black hair is an issue? Why or why not?
Yes particularly with women. I feel like the images of beauty in our (Afro/Amer.) community have become dangerously one-sided. It seems like we have lost the appreciation for those who have darker skin or whose hair is not straight. Its true we come in all complexions colors and hues. But it seems as if we are going back to a time where you have to be light with straight hair to be considered beautiful. You hear it all the time. “Your pretty for a dark skinned girl,” as if being dark-skinned is some sot of handicap.
