Learn how to create juicy tight curls and put a romantic twist on your everyday twist out. Follow these simple steps and you’ll have a head full of magnetic curls sure to turn heads.
1. Washing & Prepping
Hair should be freshly washed and damp but not dripping wet. Using shampoos that are sulfate-free is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Sulfates dry the hair and scalp and unfortunately are found in most of the products on the market. Been seeing a decrease in hair growth but increase in hair breakage? Blame you’re shampoo. To avoid this pitfall, read labels. I truly recommend Going-Natural’s Almond Herbal ShampooTM which is full of all-natural organic ingredients and none of the bad stuff! Deep conditioning is the other important step. Following this up with a detangling leave-in conditioner such as Going-Natural’s No More Knots Detangling SprayTM ensures you’ll get the best twist-out you can.

2. Combing, Parting & Sectioning
Another important reason hairstyling should be started on damp hair is that this is the best time to comb and part hair. Comb hair with a wide tooth comb, part hair with the long end of a small tooth comb. Comb from the ends and make your way to the root, not the other way around. Divide your hair into sections. I prefer to use six sections: one in the top middle, two at the sides, one at the middle back of the head, and two at the back of the head toward the nape. You can use large hair pins/clips to keep each section in place. You may also twist the hair in each individual section into large a twist. You can spritz hair with a little warm water if it starts to dry out but don’t over due it. The number of sections you make will vary by the amount of hair that you have and the size of twists you’d like to create.

3. Applying Product
Take one of the divided sections and apply Going-Natural’s Curly Twist Out Hair MilkTM to the hair in that section. Hair should still be damp at this point. Work the product into the hair, you may use your hands or a comb. Your hair will instantly feel smoother. Curly Twist Out Hair MilkTM will do as promised, “keep strands hydrated & curls defined.” The reason for it is the essential oils it contains along with Olive oil, safflower oil and agave nectar. It will also leave hair smooth and shiny!

4. Twisting
Start with one section and divide it into 4 mini sections. Secure each of these mini sections apart with hair pins. You don’t have to make that many sections, but I did because it would result in smaller twists and smaller well defined curls. Then take the hair from one of these mini sections and divide it in two and twist them over each other until reaching the end. A very important part of this step is twirling the hair ends together between the fingers. This keeps the twists together and keeps the fuzz and fly-aways far away! Repeat these steps to all the sections of the head.

5. Twist out Completion & After Care
When you’re done, all of your hair in each section should be twisted. You should allow hair to dry on its own. Many people use a blow dryer or hair dryer but though this speeds up the process, the heat produced by them will harm the hair. I usually twist in the evening and let it dry overnight. Putting a silk scarf or satin cap over the hair is a huge recommendation. When hair is completely dry, take each twist and start untwisting starting from the end and working your way upward. The more you divide the twist, the smaller curls and fuller look you’ll have. But be careful, dividing too much can lead to frizz at the end of the day. To assist in combating any frizz, I recommend Going-Natural’s Herbal Styling GelTM when styling the twist-out and applying Silky Shea Butter at the ends of dry hair which untangles any knots that may form. Re-twisting each night ensures a long lasting twist-out.
