I went natural for the 1st time in 1998, mostly because of curiousity. I later relaxed my hair and went natural once more for a final time in 2001. I’ve transitioned and done big chops, and prefer to just cut it all off.

What was the hardest part of your journey?
My journey has been surprisingly easy. A less hair-related struggle has been learning to not get boxed into other people’s expectations of my hair because of my blog and YouTube channel.
And the best part?
Every part is the best part, I love my hair. I’d say the uniqueness of my hair is the best part.
What did your hair journey teach you?
That something I previously feared could become something I love and that defines who I am.
Describe your worst hairdo and your best hairdo and please include a picture if you can.
LOL. The worst was actually a weave so I’m not sure if that counts. I can’t pick a best, I’ve had so many. One of my favorites is my twist mohawk.
Looking back, has your perception of your hair or black hair in general changed? Please elaborate.
Absolutely! What I once thought of as ugly has become my standard of beauty.
What is your favorite hairstyle?
Twists, updos and twistouts.
How long have you been a member and how did you find going-natural.com?
I’ve been a member since January 2011. I met Mireille several years ago online and in person.
