My hair tends to lack moisture so often that I have to either oil my hair or wet my hair slightly everyday. Why is that?
Answer:
Beverly, natural hair tends to be dryer that most textures. The z formation shape of kinky strands does not allow the natural oils to travel down the hair shaft to reach the ends of the hair, thus the hair usually appears very dry and brittle. Applying oil and water is fine however, make use that you are not applying sulfate, alcohol, petroleum, beeswax, and mineral oil based products. These types of ingredients in products will cause the hair to dry our even more and make the condition of your hair worse than the condition it started out. If you are using these types of ingredients: stop using it and find a shampoo with no alcohol or SLS; as far as hair oil goes, choose products with a castor, olive, avocado, coconut, or lanolin base.
