Braidlocs are the easiest style ever! If you wear box braids, faux locs or any type of extensions more often than you wear your own hair, I recommend locing your hair and getting your styles on! Seriously.
The time you spend braiding and especially taking out the extensions is dreadful time that can be made not only useful but fruitful, to literally grow your hair. My hair has never grown faster and looked happier. Loccing is truly the most natural and easiest way to grow African strands long.
Without manipulating our strands with combs or brushes our hair can grow undisturbed without breaking off. You know, every the point where our hair turns into a coil is a point prone to breakage, so the stretching and bending that combing puts the hair through doesn’t do anything good for the strands. These tools can in fact be harmful.
The Scalp Conditioning Spray and the Roller Braid is my holy grail scalp aid are very helpful as well. I realized this when a woman with Sisterlocks approached me asking me when I started my locs. Although she started her Sisterlocks one year earlier, my braidlocs were longer. Since my stylist Adenike who is also a certified Sisterlocks Consultant, uses the same technique of interlocking, the difference must be in the products.
Styling Braidlocs is almost as easy as growing them. With the basic twisting and braiding techniques you can create festive hairstyles for every occasion.
Weavy Braidlocs
You can easily make the weavy locs style by braiding the hair in two rows then spraying it with the Scalp Conditioning Spray and leaving it overnight. Take it out in the morning an viola, you got weaves for at least a week.
Curly Updo
For this wonderful style, I thank Adenike from the Woven Wool. She did the complete treatment with the Going Natural Shampoo and Scalp Conditioning Spray then curled my locs. It took a while to dry. Part under the hair dryer and then overnight but the curls were so nice! I was happy for over two weeks.
Crinkeld Braidlocs
Another easy and happy style is the Crinkled Braidlocs style. Just braid your locs in loose plaits. Make sure the ends are secure, twist them up if needed. Then spray with with Scalp Conditioning Spray and get your nightly beauty sleep. It takes a little longer to take out the plaits but the style also lasts longer.
