Before and After
by Masoesa
Radio host Tanya Simpson went natural a couple of years ago. Now she has a head full of beautiful naps but doesn’t really know how to create styles. A problem, I am sure many of us, can relate to. With a public function and a couple of teenage critics there is not too much room to experiment either. So Tanya does what most of us do in a situation like that. She either wears her hair pressed or even easier a weave.
Tameeka is what you call a passionate artist in hairstyling who gets inspired by the view of natural hair. She gets all exited and her hands are starting to itch. So, Tameeka gladly took the challenge of creating a holiday-do for Tanya that not only her husband would love but even her kids would embrace.
Tameeka took a look at Tanya, asked her a couple of questions to feel her personality and got to work. Especially for this down-to-earth, sweet New Yorker, the natural hair artist created this style. She started twisting the back and then switched to bantus while dividing the hair in diamond-like parts.
The result: a beautiful unique hairstyle that Tanya had never dreamed of and that her husband and her kids loved.
