I started my process in Aug, 2005 and I did my BC in Mar. 2006. I went natural because I was tired of relaxing. It was costing me and my mother too much money and I have a sensitive scalp, so i always burned easily! My mom did it the year before and she then convinced me to do it. and I did! And I was greatful!

What was the worst part of your journey?
The hardest part of the journey was growing out the relaxer. My hair was falling out. I couldn’t really style it just yet and I woke up every day feeling ugly because of it. I cried like 3 to 4 times a week about how ugly I looked in this transitional stage!
And the best part?
I love how versatile my hair can be. I can wear it straight, curly, fro, twists, chiny-bumbs, whatever I feel like! And my accessories!! I love to wear flowers in my hair everyday! I have like 30!
What did your hair journey teach you?
It taught me how to be patient and how to love myself the way that I am.
Describe your worse hairdo and your best hairdo.
My worst hairdo was probably Chiny-bumps just because my boyfriend at the time hated them. I wasn’t the worst for me per se, I loved them! My best hair do is hard to say because I track my hairdos on facebook and I am working on my Flickr page to reflect that! My favorite was one that happend on accident. I don’t know how to explain it so you will have to look at the picture!
Looking back, has your perception of your hair or black hair in general changed?
My perception on my hair hasn’t changed too much. I loved my hair when it was relaxed, but its even better now. I have more versatility now. I feel that the best hair is healthy hair no matter how you wear it.
What is your favorite hairstyle?
I love to wear a fro.
Can you please finish the following sentence:
I love my hair because …it made me just a little bit cooler to all races!
