After looking at and trying several different methods and ways to tie a head wrap I decided to create my own design, which I call the “Knotty T”. My design is shaped by wrapping the hair and creating a series of knots that lead to a cascading waterfall of tassels in the front.
My inspiration for this look ultimately came from an image of Brenda Fassie (the niece of Nelson Mandela and a South African superstar) and a 1991 image of an East Indian woman in an oversized beret adorned with a big dazzling pin in the front

created by Giselle Gomez.
How to create the Knotty T:This look is created by first taking the scarf and
wrapping it around the hair so that the ends point downward. Tie this once for security (wrap almost as if you would wrap a bandana). Then take the ends and tie them in the front. Continue making knots in the scarf until the rest of the material is used and let the tassels hang down. Finally, take the extra fabric that you have near both ears and pull up in order to create another layer around the hair. Voila! You’re look is complete.
These 1991 fashions have been remixed into a 2008 sensation. I hope that you try out the look, enjoy, and vote for me. Thanks!
