I am proud to stand for my individuality. I am passionate and unique, yet I am still human. In me exists many faces of the person that I am; I cry, laugh, and have fun… I am me.
What is your dream gig?
My dream gig would be being the face of a national campaign that encompasses raising awareness over an issue that is detrimentally affecting individuals and creatively representing the issue to stimulate a change. An issue that I am extremely passionate about and would love to represent would be that of Lupus. Lupus is a disorder that significantly affects minority women, yet many individuals are unaware of what it is and how it negatively affects many in our nation. The “dream” campaign would not only raise awareness but also raise funds to support research for lupus because there has been no new treatment for over 11 years.
Why do you think you are right for the job?
I believe that I would be the correct individual for the job because I possess the empathy to relate to a vast majority of individuals. I am extremely passionate about the issue and am knowledgeable. I also possess many unique ideals that I believe would positively impact a campaign of this magnitude. I am a diverse individual with many facets to my character and as such I can embody any role that is necessary to make the impact that is desired. I completely commit to any job that I undertake and my self-motivation will lend in creating a positive environment for all that are participating with the job.
What makes you special compared to the other models & why should they hire you?
The characteristic that makes me special in comparison to other models is that I am confident in who I am but I enjoy constructive criticism. If an individual has advice for me on how to improve upon my craft, I not only listen avidly but I utilize it and incorporate it. I never model myself after another, but I learn from the success of others. I maintain my professionalism in all situations and I mediate the environment to facilitate progress. With my knowledge of my body and how to utilize it to get the best lines, as well as recognizing light position the aforementioned characteristic makes me an asset to any project that I embark on. I believe that individuals should hire me because I’m a unique individual that possesses skills and traits that lead to a successful and enjoyable project.
What do you want people to know about you?
I want individuals to know that if I’m extremely passionate about something then I’m going to work with or towards that thing. I’ve had setbacks and obstacles, and being a human, I have flaws. Yet I find beauty in the simplest things and I enjoy improving upon my environment so that others might also find that beauty. Because, I fervently believe that if you find beauty in your daily interactions, one can’t help but be happy and enjoy life. Perhaps this reason is why I most love modeling. It’s a direct way to give individuals beauty and a touch of fantasy. I’m not a typical individual, I have tastes and interests that others might feel is bizarre but I’ve never lost the respect of anyone because I hold true to my values and I will always stay true to myself.
Which one of the pictures is your best shot and why?
I wanted to represent the fact that I am a human being. I wanted to illustrate through my photos that I cry, am confident, laugh, have fun, and dress up for night out. There exist many faces of the person that I am. My personal favorite shot is the theatrical headshot with clownish makeup and a black background with red splotches. This is my best shot because it encompasses a lot of me. It embodies goals, skepticism (raised eyebrows), nervousness (spotlight directly shining on your face), fear (overall expression of the face), humor (clown makeup), all with a touch of fashion (haute hat and off red-orange makeup). I feel as though with this lighting and facial expression, a lot of my personality and style was captured.
