Name: L (That is the name I use for the blog)
Location: Atlanta, GA
Profession: Educator
What was the hardest part of your journey?
I started with locks. My hair took a long time to fully lock. It was pretty frustrating at first.
And the best part?
When I cut my locks off, and I was able to start on a new natural journey with loose hair.
What did your hair journey teach you?
That we really are individuals…even with our hair. What works for one does not necessarily work for another.
Describe your worse hairdo and your best hairdo and please include a picture if you can.
My worst hairdos have been failed attempts at twist outs. My best hairdo is my wash and go because it is the simplest hairstyle I can do.
Looking back, has your perception of your hair or black hair in general changed? Please elaborate.
I don’t think so. I never thought that straight hair was better. Even as a child, I loved the look of locks and afros. If anything, that appreciation has only enhanced even more.
What is your favorite hairstyle?
The puff. I wear it most of the time.
Can you please finish the following sentence: I love my hair because ? it is an expression of my individuality and a form of self expression.
