Whether you wear your hair natural or in locs a braid out is an easy style any one can do. Even for those who don’t know how to braid very well. Believe it or not, all you really need is a healthy head of hair, the right products and you are good to go. Just watch the video and learn.
So if you are tired of wearing the same style for months is in a row and you like to change it up, try this simple braid out. You can do it if your hair is loose, twisted, braided or loced. The braid out will work for every hair type.
The trick
The most important thing about a braid out is basically the same as when you do a twist out: you need to make sure that when you take the braids out the hair is completely dry. It’s like when you do a wet set. The curls won’t stay put if you take the rollers out when the hair is still damp. This is really the biggest challenge of this hairstyle, the rest is super easy.
How to
All you need to know is how to braid. You don’t have to be a master braider or one who can make the best parts. If you can make a braid, you can do a braid out. Just take enough hair that fits in the palm of your hair and start braiding. Make sure to finish the ends well. That is very important to a finished look of the style and for that you will need some kind of product.
Recommended products
To prevent the ends from frizzling up I recommend you use the Herbal Styling Gel also known as the Curl Keeper or the Twist Out Curling Creme. Both these products are designed to moisturize natural hair which brings out the beautiful texture no matter the curl pattern. All hair types from 4A to 4C benefit from these products. Not just to define the curls but to deeply moisturize them so each strand can be at its shiniest best!
Make it Last
To make the style last I recommend you braid the hair while it’s damp. That means damp. The hair shouldn’t be soaking wet. If your hair is completely wet, let it dry first. Yes, this will cut the drying time of the braids at least in half.
Once your hair is dry, use a spray bottle to lightly dampen the hair or use a very light spritz like me. I use the Scalp Conditiong Spray. Not only does it feels great on my hair and scalp, it does the job of moisturizing my hair and scalp while the vitamins and minerals are feeding my locs.
Get a Rest
So once you are done, get a rest, take your braids out in the morning and viola! You got your braid out.
