Although my flight to Miami on Monday October 29 was cancelled, I don’t feel I can complain one bit. Besides scary hard winds, my block and street were completely safe during Super Sandy. Leaves were allover the place but not one tree nor any branches gave in to the hurricane that hit New York so hard last week.
I was supposed to celebrate my birthday with my dad in sunny Miami and o yes I had rather watched the storm making its way to my state from a hotel room with a view on the beach but I am not sure if I would have a very happy birthday anyway. The storm was so damaging that I couldn’t help just listening to the news and watching nearly the whole thing unfold.
Instead of promoting the Indiegogo campaign that I had just launched I watched the images in awe. Not only didn’t I feel like raising money, I felt it was inappropriate to do it in a time when millions of people were without power, tunnels were flooded and people’s homes were just blown away.
So, I just did what I had to do. I asked Indiegogo to cancel my project to donate the funds raised to Red Cross.
So what does this mean for America’s Next Natural Model? Well nothing really. My goal is still to make the competition better but we will make do with what we have. What I can tell you is that the prize of $1,000 for the winner is secured. We already have a few sponsors, now I only hope to get a few more to realize the weekly prizes. So please spread the word about America’s Next Natural Model and keep checking the site. We have some great things coming up.
See you online!
