The Jamaican Mango and Lime Locking Firm Wax is a blend of conditioning cremes and traditional bees wax. It is made to provide extra hold for difficult to lock hair and is also colorless and great for gray or color treated hair.
For so long I wanted to loc my hair, and I loved how women of color looked with locs. I thought it was beautiful how long they grew and accentuated their faces. As much as I knew this hair style was one that I would embrace, I wasn’t sure how I would keep them up. At first I was discouraged to start my locs because my hair has a really soft texture to it, especially in the the center of my head and around the edges where it is wavy and somewhat curly. I wasn’t sure what would work for me. I was advised by many people to not use beeswax because of its heaviness and stickiness, and how it tends to stay in the loc for long periods time, and I knew I couldn’t use regular hair grease alone on my soft hair, so what was I to use?
Well thank goodness for Jamaican Mango and Lime products! Previously, before I went natural I would notice many of Jamaican Mango and Lime products in beauty supply stores and I even remember seeing the products in videos over the internet, but I had never actually used them myself. After having my locs for a while and still feeling like they weren’t locking and holding as good as they could, I decided to try some of the Jamaican Mango and Lime products, and one of them included the locking firm wax. This product was great, it was like I had beeswax and hair grease put together but much, much better.
First of all the smell was amazing. Because Im the type of woman who loves sweet smelling aromas, I was immediately drawn to this product. It was almost like there was an actual brew of mango, lime, and honey mixed together. Once I finally stopped swirling the container under my nose (because it smells so good) I was able to experience the wonderful feeling of it on my locs. After washing my hair, I first apply a generous amount of the Locking Firm Wax to the root of my loc, then throughout my entire loc. After applying the wax throughout the entire loc I then palm roll twist my locs to secure the loose hairs as well as to give them a strong hold. After going through all of my locs I then sit under the dryer for about 20 minutes and my locs come out shiny, secure, and without much frizzies.
My favorite product is the Jamaican Mango and Lime Locking Firm wax because it smells great, it holds and secures my locs together wonderfully, and its not heavy, sticky, or greasy. I recommend Jamaican Mango and Lime Products to everyone with Locs, because this product is for people of color with all hair textures, whether it be wavy, curly, or kinky, they will love it as much as I do, and they will not be disappointed.
