There are obvious reasons for most to go natural, but what hinders some women is the fear of limited styling coupled with the myth of not being seen as feminine or pretty. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
There are obvious reasons for most to go natural, but what hinders some women is the fear of limited styling coupled with the myth of not being seen as feminine or pretty. This couldn’t be further from the truth. With natural hair you can obtain effortless chic style which can carry you from day to night. For challenge 6 we had to style our hair into different natural styles that even Michelle Obama wouldn’t mind rocking to an after five function. For this week I chose elegant up do’s which are easy to obtain and perfect to wear for a night on the town, or to a workplace event.
When I have a party or after five functions to attend I love to sweep my waist length locs up and secure with pins. This affords me to show off my neckline, and keep the focus on what I am wearing. When wearing a chic natural style you can adorn your natural style with jeweled pins, flowers, or beautiful beads. If afforded the opportunity to speak with Michelle Obama I would tell her that she does not have to sacrifice her love of straight hairstyles in order to go natural. That she could have the best of both worlds because on a whim she could flat iron or use a pressing comb to straighten natural hair whenever she wanted. I would love to show her styles such as laid back cornrows to wear when relaxing, beautiful blow-outs accentuated by a headband or scarf, curly styles, etc. Being natural chic means having endless options and versatility!
