I do my own hair. I’ve been doing my hair since I was 13 years old. I love everything to do with beauty inside and out. There’s no better way of expressing beauty then in your personality and appearance.

How important is your hair to you?
My hair is important to me on many levels. Since I have training in cosmetology, at one point it was a form of advertisement. Now since I run the See My Healthy Hair Grow blog and network, it’s more of an experiment. Especially, since transitioning from relaxed to natural. Natural hair is so versatile, and I love trying new things as far as products and methods. It’s like a hobby, I guess.
When and why did you start growing your hair?
I did a total body make over after the birth of my daughter. I lost 50 lbsand started taking better care of my hair and skin. I was actually inspired because of a class reunion. I wanted to look good when it came around…. and I did!
Who does your hair?
I do my own hair. I’ve been doing my hair since I was 13 years old. I love everything to do with beauty inside and out. There’s no better way of expressing beauty then in your personality and appearance.
Have you ever been stereotyped because of your hair?
Yes, I have been and still do. There’s a debate right now on my youtube channel as to whether or not I’m mixed race. There are a few people who believe that only mixed race people can have curly hair. My parents, great grandparents and great-great grandparents are all African american. We come in all shades, textures and nationalities. I’ve seen Caucasian people with very coily hair. So it really doesn’t matter what race you are… hair is hair.
What does your hair mean to you? Would you cut your hair or change the style for a job?
My hair is just an extension of who I am. My family and friends know me for having many different styles throughout the years. I would not cut my hair or change my style for a job unless I had no other choice. Of course I would do anything to feed my 3 children.
