Tamara Albertini, a New York Natural Hair Specialist, created Ancestral Strands Braid Studio, to bring a deeper spiritual connection to African lineage with the roots of textured hair, while promoting modern and traditional Holistic Hair braiding services. Along with offering braid services, as a Herbalist and Trichologist in training, Ms. Albertini will be offering holistic hair care consultations to combat hair and scalp issues naturally! For more than 20 years Ms. Albertini has been a natural hair braider and holistic specialist that nurtured and healed hundreds of clients. On a physical level Tamara, provides healthy hair maintenance and cultivates beautiful braided styles. On a spiritual/emotional level, her passion is to help repair the client’s past hair trauma, emotional and societal scaring. Her goal is to spread awareness on Holistic hair Braiding to avoid unnecessary toxic accumulation in the body through our Hair Products and Braiding Hair!
In 2014, Tamara became a Sacred Woman through Queen Afua’s Rights of Passage. From then, her spiritual connection became more extensive. Her passion is to curate social hair events and classes for Men and Women, and conduct hair presentations in schools for young boys and girls.
Tamara’s signature braid styles, “Goddess Braid Bang”, where the forehead is adorned with intricate embellished braids, is inspired by the Tigray Tribe of Ethiopia. This signature style has been worn by celebrities like; Sunita V. and Kamie Crawford, and Simone Missick. Other celebrities such as Camara Aunique, Michaela Angela Davis, Lion Babe, Renae Bluitt, 2019 Miss America Nia Franklin, Singer Miguel, and EP of GROWNISH Zakiyyah Alexander, to name a few, have had their hair blessed by Tamara’s hands! Not only has her work been featured in Magazines such as Essence, Allure, & O (Oprah Mag), Ms. Albertini has done TV Commercial work for BET Black Girls Rock Awards Promo , Booth Interior project work for Shea Moisture at Essence Fest & Afro Punk, and more!
Tamara is looking forward to adding new services with partnered salons and boutiques, In major cities throughout the nation, where she would spread the culture of holistic beauty and african esthetics.
