Once again, Nekhena Evans, Master Pioneer in the Natural Hair industry has created something extraordinary and new in the Natural Hair arena, an exciting event for our beautiful youth who wear Natural Hair proudly.

The first ever Youth Natural Hair Parade, “I ROCK NATURALLY”, will take place at the 44th International African Arts Festival on Sunday July 5th. Youth between the ages of 6 – 16 who have natural hairstyles i.e. Braids, Locs, Twists, Cornrows, Afro’s, Puffs, are invited to participate in the parade celebration. Work your magic in creating a wonderful “do” for your beloved and let them show it off to the world! If you have a child that you would like to encourage to feel great about their natural hair put them in the parade! What better way to celebrate our “Natural Youths” than a parade! A Natural Hair Show will follow the parade. This year’s theme is “FOREVER YOUNG” in tandem with our theme of celebrating “Youth”. The show will showcase the works of select local Natural Hair Salons and Stylists from Brooklyn including New Bein’, Locs of Nu, Beyond Braids, Marva’s Locs & Braids, Locs & Chops, Julz Natural Hair Salon and Charmaine’s (this not the name of her Salon, I’m waiting to hear back from her. There may be 1 or 2 more
salons). The Natural Hair Show will begin after the parade at 2:30p.m.
