I have been natural on and off since I was 15 yrs. That was the only time I transitioned. I had already done just about everything to my hair so after watching several Youtube vids, I figure I can try going natural again but do it the right way. This last time I decided to go natural and not look back was Sept 13th 2010. Just about 3 weeks after my last perm, I went to the barber and told him to take it all off.

What did your hair journey teach you?
My journey taught me to be patient and you can get where you need to be, also you don’t have to conform to what society thinks is “normal”.
Describe your worst hairdo and your best hairdo.
I don’t recall having a bad hair do that (don’t mean to sound boastful). My best hairdo is a twist out which I have finally perfected.
Looking Back, has your perception of your hair or black hair in general changed? Please elaborate.
It has changed a lot. Before the last couple years, “black hair” was just course, hard, kinky hair that you dread combing because we were accustom to having our hair greased and then tugged on to comb, in the end you have a headache. Now, with the knowledge and the different products they have dedicated to natural hair, one can successfully have a head of kinky coils that they are proud to comb without the pain.
What is your favorite hairstyle?
Twist outs.

January 2012 and I found going-natural.com searching for different natural hair forums.
