Everyone can love and appreciate the Mohawk. The punk rock hairstyle of the 1980’s- which is often associated with certain Native American tribes- has definitely made its mark on today’s culture. The great thing about the Mohawk is that it is a unisex hairstyle that can be manipulated and achieved with any hair type. Hair can be gelled up, braided up, and in the following pictures, you’ll see that locs can even be twisted up, to achieve the Mohawk!
In the above photos, the model’s locs are divided into three sections. Each section is pulled away from his face and positioned on top of his head. The locs are then twisted into bow like ribbons above his head. The Mohawk hairstyle has an even greater effect because the sides of his head are shaven.
In the figure below, the locs are divided into 4 sections, and each section is also pulled away from the face and positioned on top of the head. However, instead of being fashioned into bow like figures; the stylist separates the locs into smaller groups; wrapping each group and creating coil-like structures on top of the model’s head. The huge coils are then looped together to form an arch.
