I personally feel that love should be celebrated daily! However, Valentine’s Day is a great day to set everything aside and focus on the one that you love.
Life tends to get in the way and time is so short these days, it tends to be a little difficult to remind your Love that they are important to you on a daily basis. Many couples designate Valentine’s day as their wedding day.
A Day To Love
For this Challenge, we were told to talk about a Romantic Style for Valentines and Natural Brides. Valentine’s Day to me means showing the people or that special person in your life that you love and appreciate them! I feel this should be done every day, but Valentine’s Day is just that one day out of the year to pay extra special recognition to the ones you love and to show a little love to yourself! When i hear the word “Valentine”, I think of my husband and I think of my kids!
For this challenge I tried to think outside of the box. I pondered on what it would be like to be engaged or married and drew my inspiration from the pure joy and happiness I would have.
Ideally I would like to be outside for this type of shoot, but with four inches of snow on the ground and Michigan’s chilling temperatures I decided to go with the next best thing. After doing research for the challenge I found a lot of the same type of wedding styles.
In high school, I remember feeling so nervous on Valentines Day. I wondered if the boy that I had a crush on was going to say something sweet to me, or if I would get a gift. Meanwhile, I watched everyone around me wearing pink and red as they flaunted their presents.
This was my favorite challenge so far. I never had a wedding because my husband and I eloped. His family refused to accept our relationship because of racial, cultural, and religious differences. Yep, we picked the trifecta of star-crossed love. We were secretly engaged for 5 months before saying our vows and we see all the drama in a positive light as amazing stories to tell our future grandchildren. Despite the stress that such opposition can cause to flourish, we’ll be celebrating our 10th year (tin) anniversary this May.
