Another fab week! I’ve never heard of doodling but you ladies have definitely made me want to give it a try! my favourite image this week came from Ebony, it showcased her hair perfectly, was edgy and unique.
I loved loved loved seeing how beautifully the Doodles came out on all you lovely ladies! All of you were stunning, and it was a joy to see your beautiful natural hair in “Doodle” styles! I liked that you showed the process, had enthusiastic descriptions, and a sort of “before” and “after”. It was very difficult to pick a favorite. You are all so talented and beautiful.
Challenge 6: Natasha: I enjoyed what you did with the doodles, especially considering you were under the weather and had a toothache. Your style had a cool “loc” look to it. I liked how you showed the different steps in the process, and I agree that next time if you make lots more, smaller doodles it will really let your beautiful texture show.
Natasha: I guess you were the first to upload your photos this time. Unfortunately it’s not good news. Your pictures don’t say model at all. Your shoot looks like it has been randomly done with a picture phone. Natasha, I am sorry to say, you are the 2nd one to leave the competition.
Munya: The head wrap in your 1st pictures looks amazing. Love the fabric, love the color combination. I would have loved if you had instructions on how to do this fancy wrap so I could try it myself. Having said that, I like your photos but it’s really just like. When I ask for a head wrap, I really like to see at least one tight close-up so I can almost feel the wrap and see the details. There is not really one shot that I would choose for a billboard to promote fancy fabric. You know what I mean? See Take the picture on the right.
I don’t think what you did was quite how the styling was supposed to be. It was a good effort though. I did not like the psychedelic backgrounds that you added to some of your pictures.
Good job changing up your poses this week. I liked the variation. I also thought the different headwraps were beautiful! You have that technique down. However, what that technique is, I can’t tell from your pictures. I think maybe you should’ve used a different color fabric and also better lighting with closer shots so we could see what was going on.
