Men 'n Naps

There is an assumption that (Black) men are not attracted to natural hair. Occasionally you hear that a woman will never find a man if she wears her hair nappy. As a happily married nappy headed woman who knows other happy nappy couples, I never really paid attention. Yet lately I’ve been reading firsthand experiences from sisters on boards and blogs that they truly have a hard time dating. One woman even posted that her boyfriend broke up with her because of her hair.

This to me seems pretty radical but before trying to find some socio-historic explanation and jumping to conclusions, I like to know from men first hand. So I created this (unscientific) hair survey for my male friends on myspace. You can read their response here and draw your own conclusions. I wonder what you think. Feel free to respond.
