If you really think that you and your beautician has a strong relationship that can not be tampered with, go and tell her to cut your hair to the new growth because you are going natural and see how she responds.  I was shocked, hurt and angry.  She works in a unisex shop.  The barbers were complimenting me on my decision while she kept telling me that I don't have the right texture.  "What is the right texture", I asked with a smile.  She never would say what I already expected her to say.  Yes, my hair is kinky and I love it.  I am not needing the approval of her or anyone else for that matter.  I am natural, and I am here to stay.  I know that I can pull it off because God gave me this texture from the beginning.  So world...HERE I AM!
